How much does an aircond service cost in KL?

Air cond service KL: what a normal service includes
The normal service is the regular air conditioner maintenance for a unit that still cools. On each unit:
- Filters: taken out and washed.
- Indoor coil: washed.
- Drain: cleaned.
- Gas: checked. A low reading is a separate gas top up, priced in the table above.
- Test run: the unit is checked and run before we leave.
Servicing stops the mould and bacteria build-up that makes the air smell stale.

Aircond chemical wash KL: in place on the wall, or a full overhaul

Chemical wash: the unit stays on the wall
The front body and filters come off, the coil and blower wheel are treated with chemical solution, and the dirt is rinsed out into a wash bag. Book it when the airflow has dropped and the unit smells for the first minute after you switch it on. Send a photo of the unit and you usually get the wash price in writing from that alone, before we start.
Chemical overhaul: the unit comes off the wall
The indoor unit is taken down and stripped. Casing, blower wheel and coil are separated and cleaned one by one, the drain pan is removed and washed, and the unit is reassembled and refitted. It is the job for a unit that has gone a long time without a service, shows mould through the vents, or started smelling again within weeks of its last wash. In KL and Selangor a chemical overhaul is RM 180 to RM 350 a unit.
Aircond gas top up KL: leak check before the gas goes in
An aircond gas top up in KL and Selangor is RM 158 to RM 250 a unit, set by the unit's HP, and the price covers the gas refill, a leak check and a pressure test. We pressure test first because a unit that is low on gas has a leak, and the leak is found before any gas goes in.
Signs that point to gas:
- Cooling faded slowly over months instead of stopping overnight.
- Ice forms on the copper pipes or on the indoor coil.
A unit that stops cooling all at once is more often an electrical fault, which makes it a repair job.

A unit that has stopped cooling, drips water into the room, trips the breaker, rattles or will not switch on needs its fault found first. Our AC repair technician finds the fault at your home, names the part and its price, and no part goes in until you have that number in writing.
Some repairs cost more than they are worth. A compressor on an inverter unit past three or four years usually costs more than a new unit installed, and we show you both numbers before you decide. When a new unit is the better buy, we disconnect and remove the old one, upgrade the electrical circuit if it needs it, and fit the replacement.
