What a normal aircond service includes
Every operator in JB sells "service". Here is exactly what happens in the sixty minutes, so you can hold it against the RM 50 quote and the RM 150 one.
- Filters out, washed, dried, refitted. Out of the unit, not rinsed in place, and dried before they go back. A damp filter refitted into a cold unit is where the smell starts.
- Blower wheel cleaned. The fan barrel behind the filter. This is the part a cheap service skips, and it is the part actually restricting your airflow.
- Indoor coil checked and cleaned. Surface fouling comes off. If it has gone deep into the fins we tell you it needs a a chemical wash in JB rather than quietly charging you for a service that will not fix it.
- Drain tray and drain line flushed. Units drip down the wall in this climate because the drain line is blocked. Two minutes during a service, a call-out afterwards.
- Outdoor condenser fins cleaned. In Permas Jaya, Masai, Pasir Gudang and anywhere near the water we check fin corrosion and the wall bracket at the same time.
- Refrigerant pressure checked, temperature differential measured. If the charge is low we say so and quote the leak test separately. A unit that needs gas has a leak, and topping it up without finding the leak is money spent twice.

What a service will not fix
If the unit is not cooling at all, tripping the breaker, icing up, dripping water inside or making a grinding noise, a service is not your job. That is repair work in JB at RM 79 to diagnose, and the fee comes off the bill. We would rather tell you that on WhatsApp than take RM 99 for a clean that was never going to help.
