What does a proper aircond installation include?
All of this is in the install price:
- Refrigerant-grade copper pipe, not the generic aluminium that fails inside two years. That aluminium is how a cheap quote gets to be cheap.
- Armaflex insulation on the full pipe run.
- Surface trunking on a standard install. Pipe hidden inside the wall is the concealed piping line.
- OEM wall brackets rated for the outdoor unit's weight. Permas Jaya, Masai, Pasir Gudang and the other areas near the water are hard on outdoor units, so there we specify the bracket and fixings for that exposure.
- The outdoor unit where it should go: we tell you the right position rather than putting it in the easiest spot for us.
- Vacuum pull-down before the refrigerant charge is released, so the system does not start life with moisture and air in it.
- Drain line run with an actual fall on it.
- Test run, with the temperature differential measured before we leave.
A bad install voids a lot of manufacturer warranties, which is the real reason the copper and the vacuum pull-down matter.
